I work as a Program Director for the Texas HIV Connection. In my spare time I act as the International Coordinator for a non-profit charity organization that does work in Kenya. I am a returned Peace Corps volunteer who hopes to do a second 2 years of service abroad as part of my graduate school work in Global Health. My work be it professional or volunteer is dedicated to the development of individuals and communities. In all that I do, I discover that development lies in the empowerment of the people. Empowerment from choice, will and knowledge. It's a beautiful thing to hear the words, “I can” from some one who has spent her life being told, “you can't.”
